The Story Behind Little Knots

Hi, I'm Michelle, the creator behind Little Knots; mum of 2, avid traveller with a fascination for culture and traditions.

Practising a Japanese craft you may assume that I’m Japanese.. however my roots are from the Philippines but I did study a degree in Japanese and East Asian civilisation. So, East Asia is very close to my heart.

One trip to Japan in 2018 is when I first discovered Mizuhiki. I like may tourists bought a souvenir in a gift shop (for me it was in the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art in Kanazawa) which was made from pink silk wrapped cords. To this day it still hangs in my car as a good luck omen on my travels!

Fast forward and my newfound passion for crafting led me to set up Little Knots using by Mizuhiki souvenir as an inspiration.
